Paul Oldham

Paul Oldham
FULL NAME: Paul Anthony Oldham

DATE AND PLACE OF BIRTH: 8.3.65 Atherstone

HEIGHT: 5'9"

WEIGHT: 12 stone

DEBUT: I have a faint recollection of batting at number 11 at Stockingford when the first team were short of players. I was aged 14 and bowled first ball!

NICKNAMES: Stroller, Mouldy

FAMILY: Married to Sally

JOB: Design manager at a GRP component manufacturing company

CRICKETING ROLE: Matchwinner and class all-rounder - also secretary

HIGHEST SCORE: 100 v Coombs Wood May 1998

BEST BOWLING: 8-11 v Haunchwood August 1997

OTHER SPORTS PLAYED: None on a serious basis. Dabble in squash and badminton

FAVOURITE DRINK: Castle Eden Best Bitter

OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST: Been a member of ATCC for 24 years, initially as scorer. I have captained the Wednesday Midweek side for three years and the second XI for three years. I have been secretary since 1997 and have won Clubman of the year twice.

MOST MEMORABLE ATHERSTONE MOMENT: Having spent half a season crapping myself on how good the wicket I'd worked on for ages would be for the Bunbury v Warwickshire match we were hosting back in 1995, I took out the drinks. Roger Harper (ex-West Indies Test player) then proceeded to force his cup under the jug indicating which type of drink he wanted and the only words he said were " Good wicket man, good bounce." After drinks, walking around the boundary, I was then asked for my autograph!
