Generous Sandwich Factory Stumps Up Cash

A major Atherstone company has stumped up a hefty donation towards a new 'addition' to the town's cricket club.

Club secretary Paul Oldham, left, with The Sandwich Factory's financial controller Ranbir Bhalla.Atherstone Town CC players have been bowled over by the generosity of The Sandwich Factory, the club's official sponsor.

They now have a brand new much-needed scoreboard and storage facility at their ground in Ratcliffe Road. The club has hit the heights in recent seasons, winning promotion in six of their last ten campaigns.

And their success on the field has now been matched by the smart brick-built facility thanks to the kind-hearted company, which employs more than 500 people at its HQ in Atherstone.

And The Sandwich Factory's new financial controller, Ranbir Bhalla, will be keen to monitor the club's progress because he is a very keen cricket fan.

Ranbir said: "We pride ourselves on our community involvement, and this is a measure of our continued support for the club. They are at the heart of the community and we were only too pleased to lend our support."

The building will act as a scoreboard and give the club's senior and junior sides vital storage space.

The first and second XI's play in Warwickshire Cricket League Division One.

Club secretary Paul Oldham said: "We are thrilled with the support. We have progressed admirably on the field and we can now do the same off it. This support is the bedrock for our contacts with one of the major employers for the area. It shows The Sandwich Factory have a keen interest in what is going on in the area."
