New Signings Join Club

Atherstone Cricket Club revealed a major coup yesterday as their new signings for 2001 were unveiled at a hastily arranged press conference. Looking to replace the more elderly members of the side, chief scout John Bull travelled nationwide to find replacements but to no avail. “It was only until he widened his search to include the Moon that he found these two freaks” a club spokesman said from atop a table in the Old Swan Public House. Batsman Dick Clements (left) will make his debut for the club in April next year while Spoony, (pictured right) will join up with his brother-in-law once the laboratory experiments he is involved in have concluded.
