Atherstone romped to an easy win against a depleted Marston Green on
Saturday, registering their sixth win of the season in the process.

skipper Vic Clements won the toss and asked the visitors to take
first use of a wicket which had been kept dry despite the midweek
rain and although the Atherstone opening pair of Matt Pickering and
Craig Wintersgill initially struggled with their control, the
visitors were soon in trouble.
Pickering whipped out the first four batsmen, including the
dangerous Maz Hussain who was well caught by Dave Blower at square
leg off a skied hook attempt. Despite some resistance from Greenaway
and Fawcett, veteran Vic Clements removed both in quick succession
and when Ian Niblock dismissed visiting skipper Jamie Johnson, 8-man
Marston Green were all out for 117 in only the 30th over.
Pickering finished with 4-40 and Clements 2-8 and despite the early
loss of Blower, Mike Pickering made sure there were no mishaps with
a fluid, unbeaten 49 which saw the Adders to victory before the
scheduled tea interval of 4pm.
